Nymph royalty

"Lady Linnac, Fickle?" Bearberry asked in a whisper. He trod very carefully, making sure to not make a sound.

"My! I didn't hear you! I nearly had a heart attack." she blushed again, "anyway, do you know where the others are? Don't answer that. I must be the only girl who doesn't take several hours to pack." she whispered.

Bearberry smiled and laughed.
"Do you know where you want to go?" he asked her.

Fickle picked an apple and pocketed it. He would save it for a snack sometime.
He heard Berberry and lept out from behind the tree onto his friends back, only to smash his face into a rucksack.
"Ow," he laughed slightly, rubbing his nose.

Bearberry heard Fickle say 'ow'. He turned round and smiled.
"You alright?" he asked.

"Fickle! You're unbelieveable!" Lady Linnac said, her sides splitting with contained laughter."Anyway, no I don't know where I want to go. How about South?"

"Could do. But they'll know you," he said. "We need to wait for the others and then decide."

"OK. The only place they don't know me is in the desert, in the arctic, in the human community or in the rocky cliffs of death. Alot of choice really, but we'll wait for the others if you insist.

"Rocky cliffs of death...heh heh sounds cool," Fickle said. "Although they all do huh?"
He sat on the grass and pulled bits out, wishing they could leave soon.
"Ashe is really slow at packing, eh?" he smiled.

"Come off it! She's probably caught up. The most dangerous place is the home of humans. That's almost certain death. So is the cliffs. And the desert. And the arctic. Oh, why not go somewhere nice? I hate fame!" She said sitting down beside Fickle. "So, let's narrow the choices before the others get here. Which ones don you really not want to go to?" Linnac said, addressing both princes.

"The desert and artic," Bearberry replied.

"Where is she! Anyway, the desert and the arctic are offically voted out, but that leaves the stupid cliffs and humans. We must be mad!" She whispered.

"Yeah," Fickle agreed. "Too hot, and too cold. There must be other places out there apart from the ones you said...I'm sure the human world is so big, there are places without them!"

Bearberry nodded in agreement.
"There must be," he said.

"Humans inhabit everywhere. Even the desert and the arctic. The only way to join the humans would be to become what they call superheroes. But that would mean drawing attetion to ourselves and we would always be hunted. Always. Still, I'm not keen on rotting away on the cliffs either. Oh, what shall we do!" she began to sobb into her hands uncontrollably but quietly.

"Don't cry, don't cry," Fickle soothed, patting his friend on the back. He thought about that 'superhero' idea she'd had. He'd always thought superhero's could fly or something, with super strength.
Then again, humans where interesting in themselves...

*Nymphs can fly! Well they sort of glide... Air nymphs can fly. Fire and earth nymphs can sprout wings and water is stuck swimming.*

"I don't know what to do! Human or cliff?" She asked Fickle.

Ashe could hardly contain herself.
"Maybe we should go and throw ourselves into a volcanoe!" She yelled, leaping onto Linnacs back and roaring. Then, she fell off, collapsing in giggles on the ground.
"Hey, sorry I was late. Dad wanted to know where I was going so late. I told him that I was going to meet some suitors. Which isn't exactly a lie, now is it?" She said, winking at Bearberry and Fickle, before bursting into laughter again.

*Oh right! I didn't know that! o_o *

"Yay! Ashe is FINALLY here. You're so slow..."
He thought about where to go again. Fickle didn't like having this pressure on him. He umed and arred over it. Although the cliffs would be okay, they'd also be lonely and probably boring.
"H-human world...I guess," he mumbled.

Bearberry smiled and blushed when Ashe winked at him.
"Human world. It can't be that bad," he said.

"Ah, but you never met a human! They're so small...and very stupid. Really ugly. Women paint their faces, in some kind of ritual that makes men go mad." Ashe smiled, floating slightly.

"Hello? I lived most of my life with humans! The paint is called make-up and men are just stupid in human society. Not like in ours!" she winked at Fickle although she had the impression that Ashe saw the wink. "Anyway, are we all clear? Are we or are we not going to become superheroes with the humans?" Linnac brushed some dirt of her from where Ashe had jumped on her.

*Linnac fancies Fickle by the way. And nymphs are only just taller than a fully grown man. I will fill you in on nymph powers throughout this. Earth nymphs can turn into trees. Fire nymphs can turn into fire. Air nymphs can turn into water and don't ask me why, it says so in some greek story.*

Ashe had indeed seen the wink, and smiled knowingly at Linnac. She still flirted.
"So you say that if I put muck on my face, these two," She gazed pointedly at the boys, "Will go ape and want me right there, right then?"

"Sadly only humans. Oh, and it must be coloured muck. I mean make-up."
