Merfolk

Sam looked round the cave behind the seaweed curtain. He wondered if there was a way out without Omeris getting suspicious. There had to be.

Skye followed Sam's gaze around the small chamber.

Sam knew there had to be a way out but how?

Skye looked at Sams thoughtful face.
"Hey...look..." She whispered. She pointed to a sharp, flat clamshell on the ground nearby. She slowly picked it up, and began to scrape away at the rocks, chipping pieces away.

Sam winced as the noise began.
"Can't you be a little less noisier?" he whispered. "Omeris is bound to hear!"

"Sor-ry!" Skye hissed back at him. She had scraped away a hole about as big as her head.

Sam sighed and found another clamshell and helped Skye.

The hole was soon big enough for their bodies, and Skye swam through with ease.

Sam swam through but not before taking a look back to the curtain where Nightlife was.
I'm sorry he thought. He swam behind Skye.
"Now what?"

"How about we try to escape again?" Skye grinned.

"What?" Samari yelled in alarm. "Are you mad?"

"Just kidding!" Skye grinned.

Sam breathed a sigh of relief.
"You had me going there, Skye!" he said.

"I know...but we can't go back to Atlantica. Why don't we find the Sea witch?" Skye asked him, cocking her head to one side.

"Why?" he asked her. "Why do you want to be a human so badly?"

Nighlif smiled "there not here so, bye!" she shut the sewed doorand swam out the hole and to skye and sam

Sam heard Nightlife coming.
"Nightlife, over here!" he said.

"did you have to make such a larg hole" she snaped angrly befor smiling "we going to the sea wich or what?"

In response to Sam's question, Skye flicked her tail frustratedly.
"There HAS to be something worth seeing up there! They have so many different coloured places, where ours are all blue and gray and green! I wanna see them, I wanna walk, and feel sand under feet" She explained. She swam away, towards where she knew the Witch's cave was.

nightlife smiled "yes then"

"I have a...a secret," Sam said. "I met a a girl...called Naomi."

Skye studied Sams face suspiciously.
"A...human girl?" She asked him.

Sam nodded and blushed.
"Sorry for not telling you sooner," he apologised.

Skye was cross now. He must have been to the surface without telling her.
"You have been to the surface world?" She asked, scowling at him.

"Um...yes!" he said nervously and swam ahead.
