Swiftfoot snuggled into his robes, listening to the waves crashing on the shore. She wished this day would never end, or at least, would repeat itself. Moonchild smelled nice, like a fruit she could only describe as purple, warm and sweet.

Moonchild smiled as Swiftfoot snuggled closer to him. He hugged her tighter and kissed her on the head.

Swiftfoot bit her lip. She wondered what her father would say to this if he was still alive. Her heart panged, as her love for Moonchild was finally realised, and so was the loss of her father. She gulped back tears again. Queens did not show weakness.

"It's ok," said Moonchild as he saw Swiftfoot begin to spout tears. "I'm here." He gave her another kiss.

Swiftfoot pulled away, angry at herself again.
"No! Leaders should be strong! They shouldn't cry! I'm weak!" She said. She carved her name in the sand.

Moonchild sighed and looked up at them.
"Even if leaders need to cry," he said. "It's natural."

Something hit Swiftfoot.
"Hey, Moonchild...do you get the feeling that this is not our native world?"

Moonchild frowned at her, looking puzzled.
"Why do you ask?" he asked.

Ebony sat in her bed and watched the street outside.
Children dressed in rags played about with a scruffy looking dog, while an elderly women in a shawl pushed a cart of weird vegetables along with great difficulty.

"This isn't how it's meant to be," she sighed. Birch looked up from an old book.
"What do you mean?" he asked.
"This," Ebony replied, waving her arms around. "Just...it's not right, it's not the way to live. It's like poverty."
Birch didn't say anything, he just smiled sadly at the girl. Ebony looked down at her sheets.
"What do the pirates live like?"
"What? You know better than anyone about that."
"I do? Why me?" Ebony snapped. Birch flinched slightly.
"Well...you know cause of your mum and that..." he murmmered. Ebony's memories came flowing back into her. Her throat went dry, and she lay back down.
"Oh...yeah I guess," she said.

Swiftfoot put her hands into the air to emphasize her point.
"Well...I get this feeling that this isn't where we came from at all. Where we belong. And I don't mean that we're Sky Pirates. I mean that we're from a totally different world. All these memories...they're false. The only thing in this world that feels right is me and you." She smiled embarrassedly, "Pretty stupid, huh?"

He smiled and laughed and then came over to her.
"You'd have to be stupid to think that I don't love you," he said as he played with her hair.

Swiftfoot leaned back on him, allowing him to play with her hair. She liked the attention.

Moonchild smiled as Swiftfoot leaned back. He quicckly kissed her neck and carried on playing with her hair.

"Sorry to break up the happy scene..." Someone said from behind them. Swiftfoot turned, and saw a man, with spiky, long red hair. She didn't know how, but she knew him.
"Redscale... hi." She said. Redscale was a knight, once a Sky Pirate.
"You guys should be going soon. The funeral's in half an hour." Redscale said.

Moonchild stopped playing with Swiftfoot's hair and started to hover in the air. He then dusted all the sand from his robe using magic.
"Ready?" he asked Swiftfoot.

Swiftfoot wanted to punch Redscale and shut him up for stopping the moment.
"Yeah..." She said.

Moonchild took Swiftfoot's hand and off they flew.
"We'll meet you there!" he yelled as he flew off.

Redscale smirked to himself. The plan was going ahead.

The stern man walked back in, making Birch and Ebony jump out their skin.
"Q-Quirk!" Birch panted, still in shock. "Don't be so rough!"
"Ah shut up," Quirk muttered, dragging Ebony out of bed. "Come on, the King's funeral is in a few minutes. Get your Perini leader stuff on and then come outside, that stuff you have on looks stupid - although it's a nice colour..."
"Uh...alright," Ebony replied, taking the armour out of a chest at the end of her bed.
Within minutes she had the full outfit on. Thin but flexible black armour with a red trim at the edges. Ebony loved it, but her favourite part was the crest, her special crest for being the ruler.
She ran to the front of the house, where Quirk and Birch sat waiting with their dragons. Myth swooped down and snuggled Ebony with his muzzle.
"I'm glad you're okay," he told her. She smiled at him and patted his nose, before being dragged off by Quirk.

Kani had her front paws on the coffin, and whimpered madly. She was confused, she did not understand the concept of death.

Swiftfoot entered the funeral procession calmly.

Moonchild followed on after her. Everyone from the village who was not dead or injured must have been here.

"We are here today...to offer our sincerest grief to our leader, King Dragonfang the first." The monk said.
As the funeral went on, Swiftfoot shook her head. Who was this they were talking about? It wasn't her father at all. She almost shouted No, you've got it all wrong! But didn't.
At the end of the speech, people in rank order, were allowed to pay their respects to their dead leader. Swiftfoot, Moonchild and Ebony were first in line.

Moonchild looked at the people and suddenly realised that he didn't know who they were. He shook his head. Of course he did.

Swiftfoot placed a hand on her fathers glass coffin. In his hands, was one of Thunderbolts scales. The dead Perinii had been burned, but her father had been given a more noble death. She breathed in.
"Father...Your death was not in vain. I shall avenge you." She snarled. As she turned to leave, she tilted her head.
"And father...thankyou for betrothing me to Moonchild." She whispered. She went to get ready for the funeral ball.
