Kani tried to scrabble down the hole that swiftfoot was pulled into but was continusley pushed back by some, thing! Eventually she bit the "thing" and was dragged downwards...

Moonchild saw Swiftfoot and soared to her.
"Swiftfoot!" he yelled.

Swiftfoot whacked on the door before slumping across it. It was hopeless. She'd never get out and see her father.

*Am I in the palace or not?*

*You know when Dragonfang got crushed under his dragon, and Swiftfoot got dragged into a tunnel for safety? That's where I am. The perinii are in the dragons lair. I am in a chamber in the tunnel, and I have no idea where you are.*

*I thought I was following you.*

*I've been put there by my bodyguards. It's up to you what happens next.*

*O ok*

Moonchild saw the guards and instantly put a cloaking spell on himself. He then punched the guards and opened the door ever so slightly. He undid the cloaking spell and beamed at Swiftfoot.
"Hello!"

"Moonchild!" Swiftfoot said happily. She thought about throwing herself at him, and telling him to help her, but that wouldn't be very princesslike, she thought.
"Am I glad to see you! They took my father, and they won't let me see him. He was terribly hurt by the behemoth." She said softly.

He flew to her and kissed her on the lips. He then hugged her.
"Come on, we'll find your father," he said but he didn't let go of her.

She did not resist the kiss. She had-it seemed- always felt something for Moonchild. She embraced him.
"But what if he's...what if he's dead?" Swiftfoot broke down at this point, sobbing in fear and angst.

Moonchild looked at her in the face.
"We can't think that, at least not yet," he said. He then lifted her up in the air and off they flew.

Swiftfoot felt the ground fall away from her, and clung onto Moonchild. She saw her fathers room. He was lying in his bed, deathly still. He was surrounded by medics.

Moonchild tightened his grip to reassure her. He then flew down to the room. The medics were less than happy to see them.
"Princess, what are you doing here?" one asked, shocked.

"He is my father, I have a right to see him." Swiftfoot said, but hesitantly. The head meduic could sense her unsurity, and played on it.
"Please leave. Now." He said sternly. He glanced mockingly at Moonchild, before glancing back at Star, who was helping them.

*woah, I don't understand what's happening here but okay*

Rin clung to Mythrandear's saddle in terror. The giant creature had attacked all those people...all those expert fighters...
Rin trembled, but Myth was strong and confident.
"Why are you so scared, come on, you've fought these before you can beat them again," he said matter of factly. He breathed smoke out his nose and made a deep growling noise in the back of his throat.

And suddenly the fear in Rin flushed out of her. She felt her eyes blazing inside, and whiped out her small daggers, gripping them confidently. She grinned at the beast cockily, and Myth swerved towards it.
"That's more like the Ebony I know!" he growled, slashing out with a razor sharp claw.

*Heh, meh...
Huge behemoth has injured dragonfang during the attack of the dreadnought. The Perinii warriors, are still trying to scare the dreadnought away,and/or kill the Behemoth. Many warriors have been eaten by it. There are few left, and now, Moonchild and Swiftfoot are 'safe' in the tunnels.*

"Let her see him," Moonchild said. Star stayed silent behind them and just glowered at the head medic. "How can you deprive someone of seeing their own parent?"

The medic smiled slimily.
"Of course sir, of course..." He said greasily, ushering his companion medics out of the way. Swiftfoot approached the bed warily.
Dragonfang was in a terrible state. His breathing was shallow and laboured, and his ribs had caved into his lungs. His eyes were rolling in agony. His skin was pale, and moist to touch. Swiftfoot was almost afraid. He had a wound in his temple, where the blood wouldn't stop flowing. Swiftfoot padded to his side, and took his rough hand in hers.
"Father...Oh, father." She said softly, a tear in her eye. She felt his hand weakly squeeze hers in response.

Moonchild just hovered there. Swiftfoot would need someone's shoulder to cry on and it might as well be his. Dragonfang didn't look good. He was alive - barely.

Swiftfoot shook uncontrollably. Her fathers breath wheezed in and out of his airways. She could feel tears prickling the corners of her eyes.
"Swiftfoot?..Is that...you?" Dragonfang croaked.
"Father...Yes." Swiftfoot replied.
"You must...take to the throne....become the daughter of the shadows..."
"No! You'll be fine! I promise! You can take the throne again!" Swiftfoot said.
"Don't make promises you cannot keep...take...the...throne..." Dragonfang commanded, "Speak out...for your people... defeat the sky pirates...and their foul creations..."
He gasped for air, and his free hand clawed at the air for something unseeable. Swiftfoot took his other hand in hers.
"No! You won't die!" She said desperately, "You can't die!"
"H..h.h." The king tried to laugh, but to no effect.
"Why are you laughing?" She asked furiously.
"You...and Moonchild...I was to tell you at eighteen...betrothed by the Perinii gods...Take a dying mans blessing..." He offered.
"Moonchild and me?" Swiftfoot asked.
"Moonchild and you..."

Moonchild was shocked. He had feelings for Swiftfoot true but he had never thought to marry her. He had assumed that she didn't feel the same way.

Dragonfang coughed, and blood spilled from his mouth. Swiftfoot dabbed at it, cleaning it up.
"Now, for the greatest adventure of all..." He croaked. He placed his hands in a suitable position over his chest, and arranged his face into a solemn stare. He took his last breath, with his last decision: To choose his moment.
And so it was that the leader of the Shadowfighters died.

Moonchild went to where Swiftfoot and placed a hand over her shoulder.
"Swiftfoot, I'm sorry," said Moonchild.

Swiftfoot felt a wave of grief crash over her. She was overcome with it all. It was all so alien. This wasn't her world. But it was so familiar. Maybe it came of never having a father figure in her life.
She didn't know how to react. So she stood from her kneeling position, allowing the medics to pull a white sheet over her fathers face.
"I must...speak to my people." She said, her voice cracking.
